Verdant Apartments is a high end 21 Storey Apartment complex development by Stirling Capital and is one of the iconic buildings in the major redevelopment of Stirling Street and Northbridge area. Part of the development was to include a communal spa for residents. The proposed fibreglass spa, which the building was designed to accommodate, did not conform to DoH requirements and as experts in Commercial Pool Construction and DoH Regulations APS were called in to assist the Builder and Developer by designing and constructing a suitable communal aquatic asset.
The communal area is on the 20th floor which had already been completed when APS were brought in. The first steps APS took was a full scope and cost assessment to determine the clients requirements in terms of resident facility, planning requirements, DoH requirements, budget constraints and engineering restriction. During this exercise it was determined that the building structure had severe weight restrictions as it was originally designed for a light fibreglass spa. APS were able to offer a solution by means of SkyPool, a stainless steel panel pool with a ELBE Elite reinforced PVC Liner.
The Design & Construct works involved in this project included;
As Construction on the Apartment Complex was already complete, this project had an exceptionally tight timeframe. Recognising the importance of the communal facilities for the success of the over Project, through careful planning and procurement, APS completed on site works within 5 days. The project was completed within budget and provided the Client with an excellent solution to a challenging construction issue.
